Metropolitan Joanikije of Montenegro and the Littoral has greeted His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy of Kyiv and All Ukraine on the tenth anniversary of his enthronement, the Information and Education Department reports with reference to vzcz.church.ua.
‘I wholeheartedly greet you on the tenth anniversary of your enthronement as the Metropolitan of Kyiv! Given your deep faith, humility, and simpleness, the Lord has called Your Sanctity to this high ministry in a very difficult time for the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and her flock’, said Metropolitan Joanikije.
The Montenegrin Archpastor drew attention to the fact that Metropolitan Onufriy, like the Saviour, bore his cross with gratitude, ‘trying to facilitate in every way the obtaining of eternal goods for those who hear the voice and follow the path of salvation’.
‘On this remarkable and festive day, we pray for your health, for the end of the sufferings of the Ukrainian Church, and for the well-being and spiritual success of your flock’, stressed Metropolitan Joanikije.
